SHOTS FIRED NEAR THE WHITE HOUSE, INTRUDER NEUTRALIZED

WASHINGTON, MAY 24 /SRNA/ - A man who opened fire near the White House was killed after the Secret Service returned fire, Fox News reported.


The man fired three shots from a handgun toward the White House, and security personnel responded with gunfire.

The suspect later died from his injuries in hospital, CNN reported, citing security services.

Citing unnamed security officials, Reuters reported that the suspect in the White House shooting opened fire on police officers while approaching a checkpoint.

One bystander was injured, but the condition of that person remains unknown.

The shooting occurred last night. None of the Secret Service agents was injured. At the time of the shooting, U.S. President Donald Trump was in the White House.
