SHARIF SAYS U.S.-IRAN MEMORANDUM TAKES EFFECT

ISLAMABAD, JUNE 18 /SRNA/ – A memorandum of understanding signed by the presidents of the United States and Iran has entered into force, and Islamabad, acting as mediator, has approved the agreement, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced.

"It is my honor to announce that the historic 'Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding' was signed today between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The memorandum was signed by the esteemed presidents of both countries, and I also endorsed it in my role as mediator", Sharif wrote on X.

He added that Iran would immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while the United States would immediately lift its naval blockade.
