SEVEN ARMS SMUGGLERS ARRESTED

BERLIN, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - Seven arms smugglers, suspected of trafficking in semi-automatic weapons, were arrested in Berlin during police raids.

Police said searches were carried out at 11 locations, several vehicles and three business premises, where firearms and ammunition were seized.

The operation is linked to an investigation launched in April aimed at combating the use of firearms in organized crime.

Around 300 police officers, including members of a special operations unit, took part in raids across Berlin, German news agency DPA reported.
