SERGEY IVANOV PASSES AWAY

MOSCOW, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ - Former Russian Defense Minister and special envoy of the Russian President Sergei Ivanov has passed away at the age of 73, the board of the regional basketball VTB United League, of which he was honorary president, announced.

In a post on Telegram, the board expressed its sincere condolences to Sergei Ivanov's family, friends and colleagues.

Ivanov served as Defense Minister from 2001 to 2007, and as a special envoy from 2016 to 2026. In addition, Ivanov was the chief of staff of the Russian President from 2011 to 2016.
