SERBIAN CITIZEN NEARLY FELL OUT OF WINDOW OF RYANAIR PLANE

THESSALONIKI, JULY 10 /SRNA/ - A man identified as a tourist from Serbia nearly fell out of the window of a Ryanair plane on a flight from Thessaloniki to the German city of Memmingen, eyewitnesses and officials told AFP.

According to Greek media, the window "detached" over North Macedonia it had been broken by a piece of debris that detached from one of the plane's engines.

Authorities said the man was hospitalized with burns, but was "in good condition."

Among the passengers was a woman who told Radio Thessaloniki that most of the passengers were asleep at the time of the incident, and that they heard a loud noise similar to a car tire bursting.

She said that the head and shoulders of one of the passengers were "outside" and that the passenger was saved thanks to his seat belt, before other passengers arrived to help him get back into the plane.

Ryanair said that the plane returned to Thessaloniki and landed normally at the airport.
