MADRID, JULY 29 /SRNA/ - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez said that the next 12 hours would be decisive in the fight against wildfires and in preventing new outbreaks in the regions of Madrid and Ávila.
Sánchez stressed that 10 fires were currently active in the country, but that the situation was favourable at present.
He added that, following the recent escalation, the fires around Madrid and Ávila were now under control.
Earlier this week, more than 63,000 people were evacuated from their homes in the regions of Madrid, Toledo and Ávila due to wildfires that devastated the country, the Baha portal reported.
