RUBIO LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN TO ABOLISH INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT

WASHINGTON, JULY 14 /SRNA/ - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has launched a campaign to abolish the International Criminal Court in The Hague, claiming that the court interferes in US military and police operations, thereby threatening American sovereignty, The Guardian newspaper reports.

"If we stand aside, they will all be left at the mercy of foreign judges, thousands of miles away - facing the constant risk of prosecution and even imprisonment for the so-called crime of defending their own country," Rubio said in a video message posted on X.

According to CNN, the State Department's plan to dismantle the International Criminal Court will involve pressuring other countries to withdraw from the court.

"Countries that refuse to reject the court's false authority while relying on American assistance will likely be subject to increased scrutiny," Rubio said, adding that possible measures could include sanctions, travel bans and visa revocations.
