ROSATOM READY FOR DIALOGUE WITH BUDAPEST ON PAKS II NUCLEAR POWER PLANT

MOSCOW, AUGUST 13 /SRNA/ - Rosatom is ready for dialogue with Hungary’s new government regarding the Paks II nuclear power plant, Russian state corporation Director General Alexey Likhachev said.

“As for cooperation with the new Hungarian government on nuclear energy, as we have already said, we are ready for dialogue and to answer all questions from the Hungarian leadership, using facts and figures. So far, we have not received any inquiries regarding the continuation of cooperation on the operation of the Paks II plant,” he told the specialist magazine Strana Rosatoma.

He said that discussions in Hungary on the country’s energy security and the role of nuclear energy are expected to be conducted in a pragmatic and constructive manner.

“The country’s development requires a rapid response to the energy challenges the economy has been facing,” Likhachev added.
