MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA/ - Russian Security Council Deputy Secretary Dmitry Medvedev said that the world is now closer to a global conflict than at any time since 1945.
In a post on Telegram marking the day former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi would have celebrated his 90th birthday, Medvedev accused current European leaders of Russophobia and of "doing everything they can to drag Europe into a war with Russia".
He stressed that Berlusconi "probably was not a saint, but he wanted the best for his Italy and understood Russia's place in the world," adding that his death in 2023 marked the end of an "era of strong European politicians"
