PUTIN CONGRATULATES CITIZENS ON DAY OF REUNIFICATION OF NEW REGIONS WITH RUSSIA

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA/ - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Russian citizens on the Day of Reunification of the new regions with Russia, marking the anniversary of the referendums held in 2022 across the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, as well as the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions.

"I am glad to congratulate you, all citizens of our country, on the Day of Reunification. This holiday has become the embodiment of our people's irrepressible aspiration to restore historical unity," Putin said at the first plenary session of the ninth State Duma.

He stressed that residents of the new regions took part in the referendum on reunification with Russia under the most difficult conditions, in strict accordance with international law, Sputnik reported.

"The choice of the residents of the new regions was extremely clear and unambiguous – reunification with Russia. The Day of Reunification of the new regions has become a symbol of the just struggle of the Russian people across the country, as well as the residents of Donbas and Novorossiya, for freedom," Putin said.

He concluded that no one can break or intimidate the Russian people.

On September 30, Russia marks the Day of Reunification of the Donetsk People's Republic, Luhansk People's Republic, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions with the Russian Federation.
