MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA-Reuters/ - Power supply to the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant has been restored via the "Ferosplavna" power line, Russia's state nuclear agency Rosatom said today.
The Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant lost its external power supply on August 20 and relied on diesel-powered generators to cool key safety systems.
Repairs could have been conducted after a temporary ceasefire was established.
The local ceasefire was agreed with the mediation of the International Atomic Energy Agency /IAEA/ over the weekend.
The IAEA confirmed that power had been restored to the plant.
Rosatom Director General Alexei Likhachev stressed that the plant continues to operate normally.
