WARSAW, SEPTEMBER 19 /SRNA/ – Polish military aircraft were activated in Polish airspace following new Russian strikes in Ukraine, Poland's military command said.
In a post on X, the command said ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems had also been placed on alert.
It stressed that the measures were preventive and aimed at securing and protecting Polish airspace, particularly in areas bordering regions considered at risk.
"The Operational Command of the Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, while its subordinate forces and assets remain ready for an immediate response," the military command said, according to PAP.
The Russian Defense Ministry said earlier that Russian forces had struck a pontoon crossing, Ukrainian vessels and transit centers used by the Ukrainian armed forces.
