OKTOBERFEST ATTRACTS RECORD 7.4 MILLION VISITORS

MUNICH, OCTOBER 4 /SRNA/ - This year's Oktoberfest in Munich attracted a record 7.4 million visitors, surpassing the previous record of 7.2 million set in 2023, the city administration said.

Crowds increased, as did beer sales. According to city data, a total of 6.7 million liters of beer were consumed, 2.7 percent more than last year, when visitors drank 6.5 million liters.

Food vendors reported a two to three percent increase in sales and said this was partly due to the popularity of roast chicken, DPA reported.

Of the 7.4 million visitors, 447,000 also visited the section of the festival that recreates Oktoberfest as it was a century ago.
