WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 28 /SRNA/ - Oil prices rose on global markets this morning after US President Donald Trump rejected Iran's offer of a seven-day ceasefire.
Tehran presented a plan at the UN General Assembly last week to halt hostilities, under which the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, easing the crisis affecting supplies of oil and other petroleum products.
However, the US president said he was rejecting the proposal.
In London, the price of North Sea Brent crude rose 1.8 percent to $106.19 per barrel.
In New York, light crude gained one percent to $93.34 per barrel.
Analysts told the US news website Axios that, despite Trump's position, they expected negotiations between Washington and Tehran to continue.
According to them, indirect talks between Iran and the United States could even take place today.
