NEARLY 80 PEOPLE INJURED IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT PROTESTS

PARIS, SEPTEMBER 30 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - Nearly 80 people have been injured during high school student protests in France, French Education Minister Édouard Geffray said.

"What worries me is not that high school students are putting forward demands, but the violence. Since the protests began, 76 people have been injured, 18 of whom are employees of educational institutions," Geffray told RTL radio.

High school students in France have been protesting for seven days over overloaded schedules, a shortage of teachers and other problems in the education system. In some cases, the protests have turned into unrest.

According to data from France's national student union, around 10 universities and more than 400 high schools were blocked across France yesterday.
