NATO WILL NOT LAST MUCH LONGER

VLADIVOSTOK, SEPTEMBER 3 /SRNA/ - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that it is unlikely that NATO will last much longer, claiming that NATO "frenetically" looks for reasons to extend its "artificial existence".

Speaking at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Lavrov said that NATO should have ceased to exist after the collapse of the Soviet Union, claiming that the alliance first used Afghanistan, and later what they called "a Russian treat" to justify its further existence.

He added that the alliance now seeks to expand its influence in Asian-Pacific Region, under the pretext of "curbing China".
