MUHAMMAD TOPS BOYS' BABY NAMES IN ENGLAND AND WALES

LONDON, JULY 9 /SRNA/ – Muhammad was the most popular name given to baby boys born in England and Wales in 2025, marking the third consecutive year it has topped the list, according to data released by the Office for National Statistics.

Last year, 5,900 boys in England and Wales were named Muhammad, a four percent increase from the previous year. The statistics do not include alternative spellings of the name - Mohammad and Mohamed - which were given to an additional 1,700 and 895 boys, respectively.

The second and third most popular boys' names were Noah, with 4,000 registrations, and Leo, with 3,300.

Among girls, Olivia remained the most popular name for the fourth consecutive year, with 2,400 registrations. Lily ranked second with 2,300, followed by Amelia in third place with 2,200.
