MOST ITALIANS DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THEIR COUNTRY

ROME, JULY 24 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - More than 70 percent of Italians do not feel safe in Italy, according to the results of a poll conducted for Sky TG24 by the YouTrend research institute.

Only 25 percent of respondents said they "feel somewhat safe," 71 percent did not feel that way, while four percent could not specifically answer the question.

More than 57 percent of respondents called for the expansion of the law on self-defense, while 10 percent believe that the law should be amended to reduce the scope of circumstances that exclude criminal liability.

The poll was conducted on July 21 and 22, and 810 adult Italians were surveyed. The margin of error was 3.4 percent.
