MORE THAN TWO TONNES OF COCAINE FOUND ON YACHT

MADRID, SEPTEMBER 21 /SRNA/ - More than two tonnes of cocaine were found on a yacht in northwestern Spain, and four crew members were arrested.

Spanish authorities said that a yacht carrying 2.1 tonnes of cocaine had been seized and that four crew members, from Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia and Albania, had been arrested.

One of the gang members was arrested on land in Girona, near Barcelona.

The yacht, which was sailing under the Polish flag, was taken to the port of Vigo.

“The vessel had been under surveillance since July, when it sailed from the port of Roses on Spain’s Mediterranean coast, near the border with France,” the statement said.

The seizure is most likely linked to a criminal organization specializing in drug trafficking using yachts that offer services in Eastern Europe and the Balkans.
