MORE THAN 980 KILOGRAMS OF NARCOTICS SEIZED

ANKARA, OCTOBER 3 /SRNA/ - Around 986 kilograms of narcotics and nearly 1.54 million narcotic tablets were seized in recent operations across Türkiye, the Turkish Interior Ministry said.

According to a statement issued by the ministry today, the operations were carried out by provincial police departments in 75 provinces, in coordination with the Counter-Narcotics Department of the General Directorate of Security and the offices of chief public prosecutors.

A total of 1,297 suspects have been arrested during the operations.

Türkiye has long been combating international drug trafficking, and security forces regularly conduct operations to combat drug abuse and smuggling, Xinhua reported.
