MILITARY AIRCRAFT CARRYING 32 CRASHES

LAGOS, OCTOBER 5 /SRNA-Reuters/ - A Nigerian military aircraft carrying 32 people crashed near a naval base in Ondo state in southwestern Nigeria, Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo said on Monday.

The aircraft, carrying 25 passengers and seven crew members, had been flying to Lagos.

Keyamo said air traffic control lost contact with the pilots and was unable to re-establish communications.

"The wreckage was later found near the naval base in the coastal town of Igbokoda. A search-and-rescue operation is under way," Keyamo said.
