MAGNITUDE-FIVE EARTHQUAKE HITS VENEZUELA

CARACAS, OCTOBER 3 /SRNA/ - A magnitude-5.0 earthquake struck the coast of Venezuela, the German Research Centre for Geosciences /GFZ/ said.

The GFZ said the earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometres, Xinhua reports.

The epicentre was located 61 kilometres from the town of Macuro, in Sucre state in the northeast of the country.
