LIKHACHEV: PUTIN-TRUMP DIALOGUE TREMENDOUSLY EFFICIENT

MOSCOW, OCTOBER 10 /SRNA/ – The telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump demonstrates tremendously efficient dialogue between the two leaders, Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom, has assessed.

According to him, sanctions are beginning to systematically harm major players such as the United States.

"This gradually demonstrates the economic nature of sanctions. They have reached a stage where they are beginning to systematically harm major players," Likhachev told the press.

Putin and Trump spoke by telephone yesterday.

According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, the conversation between the two presidents lasted an hour and a half.

He noted that the discussion was very substantive and friendly.

Among other topics, Putin and Trump discussed fuel supplies to the United States and global markets.

Yesterday, the US Department of the Treasury issued a temporary general licence allowing Russian diesel to be supplied to the global market.

The US Treasury licence permits the sale of Russian diesel until April 7 next year.
