BEIJING, OCTOBER 21 /SRNA/ – China is ready to advance cooperation with Russia and make it more substantive and resilient, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said.

"Under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin, China - Russia relations have become more mature and resilient in recent years," Li said upon arriving in St. Petersburg, where he will attend the regular meeting of the heads of government of China and Russia.

He noted that political mutual trust had been further strengthened, cooperation had become more firm, and friendly ties between the two peoples had grown closer.

Reflecting on the development of bilateral relations to date, Li said that China and Russia had jointly explored a model of interstate relations based on non-alignment, non-confrontation, and not targeting any third party.

"We have continuously deepened cooperation in various fields and set an example of relations between major powers based on lasting friendship, comprehensive strategic coordination, and mutually beneficial cooperation," Li said.

He pointed out that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the strategic partnership and coordination between China and Russia, as well as the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation between the two countries.

The Chinese prime minister arrived in Russia at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, China Media Group reported.
