LE PEN WELCOMES TRUMP’S DECISION TO INVITE PUTIN TO G20 SUMMIT

PARIS, SEPTEMBER 24 /SRNA/ - Marine Le Pen, leader of France’s National Rally party and one of the candidates in next year’s presidential election, welcomed US President Donald Trump’s decision to invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit in Miami in December.

“Any initiative aimed at ending the conflict is welcome,” Le Pen said after criticising French President Emmanuel Macron for making insufficient efforts to bring Russia back to the negotiating table.

She made it clear that, if she wins next year’s election, France will halt financial aid to Ukraine, although she expressed a willingness to maintain some form of support, including military training, Politico reported.
