LAVROV: ALLEGATIONS OVER LEIPZIG DRONE INCIDENT ARE DECLARATION OF WAR

MOSCOW, SEPTEMBER 6 /SRNA-Reuters/ — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Western accusations against Moscow over alleged Russian involvement in a drone incident at a German airport in Leipzig ate tantamount to a "declaration of war", TASS reported.

"All these statements by /German Chancellor Friedrich/ Merz about Germany becoming Europe's leading military power again are being put into practice. In fact, he is declaring war on us," Lavrov said.

The German Government stated on September 1 that it had concluded that Russia was responsible for an attempted drone attack at Leipzig Airport last month and ordered a series of measures in response, including the closure of Russia's consulate and cultural center in Berlin.

Russia rejected the accusations as unfounded and said Berlin had fabricated evidence against Moscow.
