KHAMENEI ENDORSES MEMORANDUM

TEHRAN, JUNE 18 /SRNA-Reuters/ - Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said he had approved the Memorandum of Understanding with the United States after receiving assurances from President Masoud Pezeshkian and other senior officials that the rights of the Iranian nation and the "Resistance Front" will be protected.

In a written message to the Iranian nation, Khamenei said that Pezeshkian, in his capacity as Head of the Supreme National Security Council, had assumed responsibility for ensuring that the agreement safeguards Iran’s interests.

According to Khamenei, Pezeshkian pledged not to yield if Washington makes excessive demands.

Khamenei added that future face-to-face negotiations with the United States would not mean accepting the “enemy’s position.”
