WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA - RIA Novosti/ - The key East-West oil pipeline running across Saudi Arabia was hit by missiles in the Riyadh and Medina regions, CNN reported.
The Saudi Ministry of Energy said that the flow through the vital pipeline was temporarily suspended following the attack and that the number of people injured in the explosion was not yet known.
Key energy infrastructure was hit yesterday, with a preliminary assessment showing that pumping stations located directly along the pipeline were affected.
Satellite imagery additionally showed more extensive fire damage at one of the stations, while footage showed a small fire and black smoke rising from another location.
