BERLIN, JULY 25 /SRNA/ – Germany's industrial sector is losing around 15,000 jobs every month, Tanja Gönner, Director General of the Federation of German Industries /BDI/, has warned.
Speaking to the DPA news agency, Gönner said the situation facing German industry is critical, but stressed that there are many opportunities to reverse the trend.
"Innovation has long been a priority for many companies," Gönner said, highlighting artificial intelligence as an area of vital importance.
She added that geopolitical developments, such as U.S. tariff policies and China's growing industrial dominance, are also placing additional pressure on German industry.
The BDI represents around 100,000 companies that together employ more than eight million people.
