FLYNN: SERBS WOULD HELP AMERICANS AGAIN, AS THEY DID DURING OPERATION HALYARD

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 23 /SRNA/ - US General Mike Flynn said he believes that the people of Republika Srpska and Serbia would once again help Americans if a scenario similar to that during Operation Halyard in the Second World War were to occur.

"I believe that if this happened again, the generation of people living in modern-day Serbia and Srpska would once again help Americans in need," Flynn wrote on X on the occasion of the 82nd anniversary of Operation Halyard.

According to him, not enough is said about the courage and sacrifice of those who were America's allies during that period of the Second World War.

During Operation "Airlift", also known as the "Halyard" mission, more than 500 Allied airmen were evacuated by air from occupied Yugoslavia in 1944.

The center of the operation was Pranjani, where local residents built an improvised airstrip at Galović Field and provided shelter and assistance to the crews of downed aircraft until they were evacuated.
