BRATISLAVA, JUNE 27 /SRNA/ – Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico sharply criticized Western deliveries of advanced military equipment to Ukraine and warned of the potential consequences, stressing the danger they pose if used against Russia.
"I believe we can all agree that the current war against Russia is not being fought by Ukraine alone. Russia is not at war only with Ukraine," Fico said in his TASS interview.
He pointed out that many Western countries are supplying Ukraine with advanced military technology, which is being operated on Ukrainian territory by foreign military personnel.
Fico expressed concern that if Western military specialists continue to operate state-of-the-art weapons systems in Ukraine, Moscow could retaliate.
Commenting on the recent meeting of the European Council, Fico said that only a small number of senior EU officials support dialogue with Russia or efforts to find a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
He reiterated Slovakia's position, saying that Bratislava would always support dialogue with Russia.
