FICO: AfD VICTORY - SOVEREIGN DECISION OF GERMANS

BRATISLAVA, SEPTEMBER 7 /SRNA/ - The election victory of Alternative for Germany /AfD/ in Saxony-Anhalt represents the sovereign decision of voters in a sovereign country, said the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico.

He wrote on X that German voters handed one party – AfD – a decisive victory.

"This is the sovereign decision of voters in a sovereign country, and therefore it is inappropriate to portray the election result as the end of democracy or as something terrifying," Fico noted.

According to him, when governing parties fail to address illegal migration, adopt militant positions and support wars, and refuse to acknowledge the alarming impact of European climate policy on competitiveness, they lose elections and are replaced by other parties that often offer simple, but nevertheless concrete, solutions.

"I have only one wish: that this result in the German regional elections does not lead to war with Russia being presented as the only way to distract from the defeat of the governing parties. Because, as the old saying goes, `Germany does not make small mistakes,`" Fico concluded.
