EIGHT ARRESTED IN ARMS TRAFFICKING CRACKDOWN

CORDOBA, SEPTEMBER 26 /SRNA/ - Spanish police arrested eight people in an operation targeting arms trafficking in the city of Cordoba and the provinces of Seville and Malaga, Spanish state broadcaster RTVE reported.

Around 150 police officers took part in the operation from the early morning hours, using sniffer dogs, helicopters and drones.

The report said several weapons and a large amount of cash were seized.

Sources close to the investigation said the weapons included long guns such as rifles and automatic rifles.

The weapons are believed to have been intended for use in drug trafficking.
