DEATH TOLL RISES TO 3,889

CARACAS, JULY 10 /SRNA/ - The death toll from the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela has risen to 3,889, the President of the Venezuelan National Assembly Jorge Rodriguez announced.

He wrote on Telegram that 16,740 people were injured, and that 6,462 of them were rescued.

According to the latest data, 17,907 people were left homeless, and 86,794 families received assistance.

A total of 16,891 people were accommodated in 89 temporary shelters.

Earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale struck Venezuela on June 24th, less than a minute apart.
