DEATH TOLL RISES TO 25

QINGDAO, SEPTEMBER 10 /SRNA/Reuters/ — The death toll from a fire aboard a foreign cargo ship undergoing repairs at a state-owned shipyard in the city of Qingdao, on the east side of the country, has risen to 25, state news agency Xinhua reported.

The report reminds the fire broke out early this morning at Qingdao Beihai Shipyard during repairs and inspection.

At the time the fire broke out, 42 people were aboard the ship. The blaze was extinguished shortly afterward, and rescuers safely evacuated 12 people who were not uninjured, while five others were taken to hospital.
