CHRYSLER RECALLS MORE THAN ONE MILLION VEHICLES DUE TO FIRE RISK

WASHINGTON, SEPTEMBER 29 /SRNA-Reuters/ - The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it had determined that 1,076,999 vehicles manufactured by US automaker Chrysler were at risk of underhood fires.

The recall affects more than one million Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles manufactured from 2021 to 2025, which are at risk of engine fires due to overheating of the power steering pump components, even when the engine is not running.

The administration advised that the vehicles be kept away from homes, garages and other vehicles and not parked indoors.

It added that authorized dealerships would inspect and replace the affected parts free of charge.
