CENTER-LEFT OPPOSITION LEADS AFTER VOTE

STOCKHOLM, SEPTEMBER 14 /SRNA/ - Sweden's center-left opposition is leading the governing bloc following voting in Sweden's parliamentary elections, Reuters reported.

The report said that the opposition was ahead after most of the votes had been counted, but that the outcome remained uncertain, with the current margin standing at three parliamentary seats in favor of the opposition.

Unless there is a major change, the left-wing bloc led by Social Democratic Party leader Magdalena Andersson will win 176 of the 349 seats in the Swedish Parliament, while the governing bloc led by Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will win 173 seats.

"If the result remains like this, Sweden will have a new government," Andersson said last night after the preliminary results were announced.
