BEIJING CALLS ON WASHINGTON AND TEHRAN TO RESPECT SIGNED MEMORANDUM

BEIJING, JULY 8 /SRNA/ - The US and Iran should abide by the signed memorandum of understanding and resolve differences through dialogue, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning.

"We call on the US and Iran to properly implement the memorandum of understanding that was signed and resolve differences through dialogue and talks," Mao said at a briefing, commenting on the new exchange of fire between the US and Iran.

According to her, Beijing is closely monitoring the latest developments in the Middle East and notes that the continuation of military operations is not in anyone's interest, and that no problem can be solved by military means, TASS reported.

The US military has carried out a series of strikes on Iran after Iran's Revolutionary Guard attacked three tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

The US has revoked Tehran's oil sales license for violating the ceasefire.
