BEIJING, AUGUST 26 /SRNA/ – China-US relations are of vital importance, and it is necessary to properly manage differences between the two countries in order to jointly respond to global challenges, it was conclude in Beijing at the third Track 1.5 Dialogue.
Representatives of China and the United States stressed the need to jointly implement important agreements reached by the presidents of the two countries, as well as to further develop relations based on constructive strategic stability, the China Media Group reported.
Participants at the meeting assessed that China-US relations are currently at a critical turning point.
China and the United States held the third Track 1.5 Dialogue in Beijing yesterday, during which representatives of the two countries held open, in-depth and constructive discussions, according to a report by the China Media Group.
The dialogue was jointly organised by the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Asia Society of the United States.
Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, attended the event and delivered the opening remarks.
Around 40 Chinese and American representatives attended the event, including officials from Chinese state institutions, representatives of local authorities, research centres and universities, as well as American figures from the political and business communities, including John L. Thornton, Co-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Asia Society.
