BEER PRICE FIVE TIMES HIGHER THAN 30 YEARS AGO

MUNICH, SEPTEMBER 16 /SRNA/ - The price of beer at the famous Oktoberfest in Munich is five times higher this year than it was in 1985, German UniCredit Bank official Andreas Rees said.

The price of beer has always been a topic of discussion, as it has risen sharply over the past several years, German DPA reported.

Visitors will have to pay 15.61 euros for a traditional mug of beer this year, an increase of 2.4 percent compared with last year.

The Munich Oktoberfest, considered one of the world’s largest beer festivals, is due to open on Saturday, September 19, when the city’s Mayor Dominik Krause will tap the first keg.

The famous festival is expected to attract several million visitors from around the world again this year.
