PORT-AU-PRINCE, AUGUST 24 /SRNA-Reuters/ - At least 30 people were killed in an armed gang attack in Kenscoff, Mayor Jean Massillon said.
Massillon blamed members of the criminal organization “Viv Ansanm” for the violence. The group, which brings together several gangs, has been designated a terrorist organization in Haiti.
Kenscoff, a town on the slopes overlooking Port-au-Prince, has been the scene of numerous armed gang attacks in recent years.
Human rights organizations have reported mass killings, rape, arson, and kidnappings, forcing thousands of people to flee their homes.
