TOKYO, AUGUST 23 /SRNA/ - At least 37 people were injured in a magnitude 5.9 earthquake that struck Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, Japanese media reported.
The earthquake caused water pipes to burst in Tokyo, disrupted rail services in the Kanto region and triggered flooding on some roads.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake struck at around 2:00 a.m. local time at a depth of about 70 kilometers.
