ARMED MAN ARRESTED AT TRUMP'S GOLF COURSE

WASHINGTON, AUGUST 5 /SRNA/ – An armed man was arrested at U.S. President Donald Trump's golf course in California several days before his scheduled visit, police said.

Plainclothes officers reported a suspicious individual at Trump's National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes on Sunday, August 2, who was "taking photographs and recording videos and appeared to be monitoring security planning activities," the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office announced today.

The man was arrested; police found ammunition and a magazine loaded with 16 rounds in his possession. A search of his vehicle uncovered a loaded handgun along with an additional loaded magazine.

A subsequent search of his residence led to the discovery of firearms and ammunition, body armor, radio communication equipment, and "multiple notebooks containing concerning statements", police said.

Trump had been expected to be at the golf course last night for a Republican Party fundraising dinner.

In April, gunshots were heard during the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, prompting the evacuation of Trump and his wife, Melania, and the interruption of the event.

In February, authorities fatally shot an armed man at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

In 2024, while campaigning to return to the Oval Office, Trump was wounded in the ear during a campaign event in Pennsylvania.

Later that year, the U.S. Secret Service shot at an armed man hiding in bushes near Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, who was believed to have been planning an attack.
