ANTHONY HOPKINS TO RELEASE CLASSICAL MUSIC ALBUM

LONDON, AUGUST 12 /SRNA/ – Actor Anthony Hopkins has announced the release of his first music album, Life Is a Dream, on August 21.

The album features 12 classical music compositions that Hopkins wrote over a period of six decades, the Associated Press reported.

The album was recorded at Alexandra Palace in London in April, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel and performed by a philharmonic orchestra.

“My first love, or calling, is music. That sounds very formal, but I was brought up with a lot of music from the post-war years, which influenced me. I started playing the piano when I was quite young,” the 88-year-old Hopkins said.

He notes that he finds greater freedom in music and that, for him, music is a form of art that moves freely, adding that the inspiration for his first album was childhood and memories of growing up and his adolescent years in Wales.

According to him, there is great sadness in all of this because beneath everything lies the realization that life is “one long farewell”.

“From the moment we are born, we begin to die,” Hopkins said, noting that he should not be misunderstood and that he believes he has had a wonderful life.

The actor first picked up an instrument when he was four years old, and began composing years later, writing his first piece, a waltz, in 1960, when he was 22.
