BERLIN, OCTOBER 20 /SRNA/ – Amazon has announced that its investments in Germany will reach approximately €16 billion next year.
The company said the planned investments would cover jobs, technology and infrastructure, including the expansion of data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure, high-speed satellite internet, new logistics projects across the country, and a major new production programme of Prime Video Company.
"Germany is a hub of innovation and represents one of the most attractive investment opportunities in Europe," said David Zapolsky, Amazon's Chief Global Affairs and Legal Officer.
He added that the company had invested more than €100 billion in Germany since 2010.
The company said that around 3,000 people currently work for Amazon's cloud services provider in Frankfurt.
The announcement comes as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz hosts leading business executives in Berlin for the first summit of its kind, aimed at attracting more private investments to help strengthen Europe's largest economy after years of sluggish growth.
