AIRLINES OFFER PASSENGERS MONEY TO LEAVE THE PLANE DUE TO THE HEAT

LAS VEGAS, JULY 28 /SRNA/ - Airlines in Las Vegas have offered passengers up to $2,500 to voluntarily give up their seats after extreme heat forced aircraft to reduce their take-off weight, News 3 Las Vegas reported.

"We were offered $2,500 to volunteer to get off the plane because of weather-related weight restrictions. I've never experienced anything like that before," one passenger said.

Temperatures in Las Vegas reached 43°C on July 24, reducing air density and making take-offs more difficult.

As a result, airlines were forced to leave as many as half of the seats on some aircraft empty to reduce the planes' weight as much as possible.

More than 580 flights in Las Vegas have been delayed today, and over the coming days due to extreme heat, the New York Post reported
