HARARE, AUGUST 12 /SRNA-Reuters/ - Fifteen bodies have been found in a lake in Zimbabwe where a passenger ferry capsized yesterday, and at least 27 people, including children, remain missing, a local official told the state-run Herald newspaper.
Police earlier said that the vessel, carrying 90 passengers and five crew members, capsized on Lake Kariba, but did not give a death toll or say how many people had been rescued.
A local official said that 114 tickets had been issued for the ferry, suggesting that more people may have been on board.
A police spokesperson did not respond to Reuters’ phone calls today.
