SERBIA FINISHES TENTH AT EUROBASKET

RIGA, SEPTEMBER 8 /SRNA/ - The Serbian national basketball team finished in tenth place at this year's European Championship, FIBA announced.

Among the teams eliminated in the Round of 16, France ranked ahead of Serbia due to a better point differential, while behind Serbia were Italy, host nation Latvia, BiH, Israel, Portugal, and Sweden.

The Serbian squad entered the tournament as one of the top favorites for gold but, as in the previous EuroBasket, was eliminated in the Round of 16.

In the group stage, Serbia defeated Estonia, Portugal, Latvia, and the Czech Republic, while losing to Turkey.

In the first game of the knockout stage, the Serbian team was stopped by Finland.
