PALE SKIER MARKO ŠLJIVIĆ PLACES 39TH IN GIANT SLALOM

PALE, FEBRUARY 14 /SRNA/ – Skier from Pale Marko Šljivić finished 39th in the giant slalom at the Winter Olympic Games in Italy, marking his best result at the world’s premier sporting event.

Šljivić completed his first run in 41st place with a time of 1:22.76 among 81 competitors.

A total of 73 skiers started the second run, and the BiH representative posted a faster time of 1:17.45, which placed him 39th overall in the combined standings.

Šljivić’s next appearance is scheduled for Monday, February 16, when he will compete in the slalom event.

Also representing Pale at the Games are cross-country skiers Strahinja Erić and Teodora Delipara, along with their coaches Mladen Plakalović, Dragan Jeftović and Željko Šljivić.

Athletes at the Winter Olympics are competing in 116 events across 16 winter sports, with around 2,900 competitors from 93 countries taking part on snow and ice.
