TOKYO, AUGUST 20 /SRNA/ - Footballer and former Japan international Kazuyoshi Miura has become the oldest goalscorer in the history of the Japanese Emperor's Cup at the age of 59, Reuters reports.

Miura scored two goals from penalties in the third division team Fukushima United's 7-0 aggregate victory over Oyama Soccer Club.

With his goals in the aforementioned match, Miura broke the record previously set by Shinji Ono, who was the scorer in the Emperor's Cup at the age of 41.

This is Miura's 42nd season in professional football. He began his career in Brazil in 1986, and then played in Italy, Croatia, Australia and Portugal.

He played 89 games for the Japanese national team and scored 55 goals.
